The farm derives its name from the family that has been cultivating it for two centuries. At the moment the managers are Pompilio Francesco and Carla, who inherited both the fields and the passion for the farm activities.
The house with the restaurant
The farm is situated between the hills of the province of Ascoli Piceno, in a varied and sweet landscape. Looking to the north you can see old villages upon their hills; looking to the south, the Apennines with their highest peaks, the Gran Sasso and Maiella, and, closer, "i calanchi" (the gullies), typical bluish argillaceous formations with poor, but beautiful, vegetation, made of bushes of brooms and tamarisks. When the air is clear, you may see the Adriatic Sea.

The guests accommodate in restored adjacent farmhouses, surrounded by a wide park, in panoramic position. Eight rooms, every one with its own bathroom (for 18 people in all) and dining and sitting rooms are available. The farm, where they practise natural agricultural techniques, is 90 hectares wide and they cultivate vineyards, olive groves, cereals, beets, fodders, oleiferous plants. The poultry, the vegetable garden and the typical local cultivations, like spelt and anise, are specifically dedicated to the guests, who can in this way know the traditional local cuisine. The guests may follow the farm activities during the working day. Pompilio Francesco e Carla intend to put the farm at the guest's service. Besides, they plan to renew some old building, deserted at present, restoring their original look. |
